Rebooting a Showmaster
There are three ways to restart a Showmaster, from least to most disruptive. Always try them in this order.
Which Showmaster?
Each Showmaster restarts itself — make sure you open the right unit:
- showmaster1.c.itn.liu.se — the Dome
- the VR-Arena — the panel now lives at vr-panel.citn.liu.se;
the old
showmaster2.c.itn.liu.seaddress is gone
1. Reboot from the TechPanel (fastest, < 1 minute)
- Open the Showmaster's web address (above) and choose TechPanel, then enter the password from Bitwarden.
- Go to the Systems tab and press the orange Showmaster button under the Reboot Section.
- The unit sends itself a restart command and is back in under a minute.
2. Power cycle from the TechPanel (~2 minutes)
Not yet implemented
The Power Cycle Section has no button for the Showmasters themselves — it only lists the render nodes (Atlas, Bravo and Draco) and the HDMI Matrix with purple power-cycle buttons. Until a Showmaster button is configured, use method 1, or power cycle from the PDU as a last resort.
- Open either Showmaster's web address and choose TechPanel, then enter the password.
- Open the power-cycle tab and press Showmaster1 or Showmaster2 under Power Cycle Section.
- The Showmaster tells the right ePDU to drop power for one minute and restore it. Slower than a plain reboot — allow about two minutes.
3. Reboot via Showmaster Editor (from another computer)
Use this when the web panels do not respond.
- Log in to a computer with Medialon Showmaster Editor installed on the same
network as the target Showmaster — the Editor only discovers units on its local
subnet:
- Showmaster 1 (Dome) =
172.19.6.0/24→ use VMIX-01 - Showmaster 2 (VR-Arena) =
172.19.66.0/24→ use VMIX-02
- Showmaster 1 (Dome) =
- Start Medialon Showmaster Editor and answer Yes to the UAC prompt. Startup can take a minute or two.
- Choose Connect from the Showmaster menu, or press
Ctrl+Alt+K. The Showmaster Browser opens and lists the units on the local network. - Select the unit and press Connect. You can now see its serial number and active project.
- Choose Reboot from the menu.

Confirm the exact steps after selecting Reboot in the Editor (a confirmation dialog may appear), and confirm whether the TechPanel tab names above match the current panels.
